  Update from the Broadband Committee The Connect St. George Committee is asking the St. George community to participate in  Maine Broadband Coalition's Speed Tes t .  The goal of the “Get Up To Speed” initiative is to gather data from across the state to generate the most comprehensive map of both the presence and quality of internet in Maine to date.  How does this help the Connect St. George initiative? The new speed testing initiative is the crucial next step in ensuring the delivery of broadband throughout the state and will help local, regional, and state leaders develop projects and steer investments to the places that need it most.  The test takes less than 1 minute (depending on your internet) and will help us move our project forward.

March newsletter from the Library - expanded hours - Tuesday 10am to 3pm

  As we enter March and the anniversary of COVID-19 uprooting our usual routines around the library, we want to take a few moments and   share some of the joys we’ve experienced while serving you, our patrons and community. Our Tool Library facilitated a bathroom and closet remodel, and allowed several homes to have wood split for the winter. Craft kits kept a group of patrons in a celebratory mood on New Year’s Eve, and some St. George students masked in style. We’ve provided momentary human and familiar contact to many patrons during curbside pick ups. Documents were printed, jobs were applied for, and vaccines signed up for because of our WiFi, computers, and printers. We are honored to be your library. Our building is in use by our St. George Youth for more than 15 hours a week, and due to capacity limits, we cannot be open to the public during those times. We look forward to offering more in person access to our community once capacity limits are lifted, but for now, we are expand

We will get through this difficult time, relying on the good sense and solidarity of this community. The Town Office is staffed but closed to the public; please call 372-6363 if you have any ques tions about Real Estate Tax payments, re-registering vehicles, buying Hunting & Fishing licenses, re-registering boats, etc. We will be glad to assist you any way we can. We appreciate you conducting as much business as possible via US mail or online. The Transfer Station is ONLY accepting bagged trash and cardboard; if you can, please store other recyclables until this restriction is lifted or include them in your bagged trash.
